For the 11th SEADOM Congress and building on this year’s feedback, the focus turns to matters of Quality Assurance for Music Education in Southeast Asia. For this topic, we will bringing to Yogyakarta leaders from the European Association of Conservatoire’s recent and current projects including Clare Mera-Nelson who led the AEC Learning Outcomes. While the speakers will introduce the most recent approaches from a European perspective, They will also aware that different environments necessitate different solutions based on national and regional requirements and musical style and contexts. As such, these sessions will be about sharing best regional practice as well as insights from outside.
A second theme, building out from the strengths of ISI Yogyakarta will be to consider ways in which music links easily with other adjacent performing and visual arts (dance, drama, story-telling, puppetry, textiles, drawing etc.). Both themes will be connected to each of the SEADOM’s ongoing areas of focus -Advocacy, Celebrating the New etc. - with plenty of time for participants to interact with our Keynotes and with each other.
