Virtual Music Camp, Sing! Is a joint collaborative between the Faculty of Music, Universiti Technologi Mara (UiTM), at Malaysia and the College of Music, Mahidol University, at Thailand that aims to celebrate and spread the appreciation for the rich folk songs that come from their respective Homelands, Malaysia and Thailand, which are filled with rich folk music traditions. In this camp students from the local schools of Malaysia and Thailand participated in a virtual collective singing program that aimed to bring about an intercultural appreciation for Malaysian and Thai folk songs while improving their musical skills along with it. Around 96 secondary school students from Thailand and Malaysia took part in this two-event virtual camp. The first event, a workshop program for students of the local schools, took place on the 15th of January, 2022 and was followed on by a second event that took place on the 23rd of January, 2022. The second event was a showcase/performance event which was streamed on YouTube for all to watch. SEADOM is glad to see the collaboration between two of our key members and witness their role in spreading the joy of folk songs from Southeast Asia.
